Our leather and shearling are sourced as byproduct materials from the food industry and adhere to strict European animal welfare guidelines.
The materials are tanned and dyed in traditional processes with natural agents, without pesticides, chromium or lead-containing substances.
We proudly partner with of highly specialized, independent family-owned artisan workshops in Italy for the production of all our leather & shearling garments.
With every wear, the natural material accompanies the wearer on a journey, developing a rich, living patina. A subtlety in tone, depth of color, refined luster, and a distinct character emerge organically. The garment transforms into an one-of-a-kind piece, a reflection of its wearer's life and experiences.
Boiled Merino Wool
A favorite of the Frauenschuh family, the boiled merino wool brings Alpine tradition into the present.
The finest mulesing-free merino wool is felted using a technique rooted in Alpine craft, creating a resilient, weather-resistant fabric that offers reassuring warmth.
Naturally breathable and temperature and moisture-regulating, the material has a gentle give that allows ease of movement. Structured yet supple, it lends jackets and coats a beautifully defined shape while draping smoothly.
Biodegradable Wool Fleece
Combine enveloping warmth with the effortless comfort of a favorite layer, our biodegradable wool fleece has a softly brushed surface that invites touch and a smooth inner face slips easily over layers.
Virgin wool, the base of the wool fleece, lends natural breathability and odor resistance, making the material as suitable for active pursuits as it is for everyday wear.
The fleece is biodegradable, as are the fine fibers it may release through wear and washing.
This material took our team 8 years to develop and perfect.
Rubino Knit
Made in Italy, Rubino Knit is knitted using exceptionally light yarn that combine ultrafine merino wool, silk and cashmere. Merino and cashmere lend the knit an exquisite softness against the skin, while silk adds a quiet lustre.
Our Rubino Knits are piece-dyed. The garments are knitted with undyed yarn and dyed separately as individual pieces - rendering each truly one-of-a-kind. The resulting variations in color also accentuate the artisanal character and create the garments’ distinctive vintage look.
